4/20 is just around the corner. Ordinarily, that would mean your favorite Denver weed shops would be ramping up for great promotions and helping people get ready for epic parties celebrating the one thing that brings us all together: weed. This year is going to be a bit different. Events are cancelled until further notice, restaurants are offering take-out or delivery only, and everyone is starting to get used to wearing masks. Though the coronavirus has changed the way Coloradoans get together, we still think you should be able to celebrate our favorite holiday. Here are a few tips to help you stay safe and still appreciate 4/20. 

Netflix and Chill with Friends
Getting high and watching your favorite movies with friends is a great way to celebrate the holiday, but this year, you’re going to have to do things differently. Instead of having people over, open your laptop and video chat with your friends while you watch your favorite flicks. You’ll still feel like you’re together even though you’re apart.

Get Your Favorite Munchies Delivered
Getting to the grocery store to buy ingredients for your favorite 4/20 munchies isn’t as easy as it used to be, but that doesn’t mean you have to forego your favorite snacks. Just find local restaurants and place an order for delivery. Just make sure you’re not too high when you place your order. Otherwise, you might be surprised by how much food shows up on your doorstep. Showcase your haul on video calls with your friends and pass a virtual joint so to speak. 

Find a Virtual Concert
Nothing is more fun than getting high while enjoying your favorite band or musicians. You don’t have to give that up this April. You just can’t do it outside your house. Find your favorite musicians on Instagram, Facebook, and other social media platforms and see if they’re hosting a live-streamed concert from their living room. More musicians are starting to do this and you’ll be able to get high while listening to live tunes right on your couch. 

Share the Love
This is an incredibly stressful time and many people are experiencing new emotional strain because of social distancing guidelines. Though you can’t show them that you care by handing them a joint or passing a bong, you can and should check in with your friends this 4/20. Let them know you’re thinking about them. Light up a joint together while you’re apart and have the same types of conversations you’d have in person. Remember, being apart doesn’t have to mean feeling alone.
