Denver Dispensaries Share Tips for Smokers Concerned About Coronavirus

March 18, 2020

Coronavirus is all people are talking about these days. Many cannabis users have already stocked up on their favorite products just in case they have to self-isolate at home. But if you plan on getting together with friends in the next few days and sharing your stash to help reduce anxiety, there are a few things you can do to help stay healthy. According to your local Denver Dispensary, here are a few tips and precautions you should be taking right now.

Stop the Puff and Pass Cycle
Sharing a joint with a group of friends or offering them a hit off your bong is a great way to show people you care, but it’s best to stop sharing right now. Instead, keep your germs to yourself. Encourage your friends to bring their own pipes or bongs and light up together with separate devices. This will help cut down on the germs that get shared around your social circle. Remember, COVID-19 isn’t the only virus still spreading. The flu season isn’t over yet!

Wash Your Hands
Remember all those times that your mom told you to wash your hands? She said it for a reason! Washing your hands with soap and water is one of the best ways to get rid of germs, bacteria, and viruses that you pick up when you touch items in public. Believe it or not, there is a right and a wrong way to do it and that quick 5-second scrub you normally give your hands isn’t gonna cut it.

Wet your hands with warm water and lather up. Scrub your hands for at least 20 seconds before you rinse them clean. Scrub between your fingers, the backs of your hands, your wrists, and under your fingernails. If you’re not sure how long 20 seconds is, sing “Happy Birthday” to yourself twice or sing the chorus of “Africa” by Toto. Whatever works for you. Once you rinse off, dry your hands with a clean towel or use an air dryer if you’re at a public bathroom.

Stop Touching Your Face
Anytime you touch something, your fingers can pick up the germs on the surface. This isn’t an issue as long as those germs stay on your fingers, but it can be a huge problem if you touch your face. When you head to your favorite dispensary and touch the door on your way in or are out shopping for food to satisfy your cravings for the munchies, avoid touching your face. Don’t even scratch your nose until you have a chance to wash your hands!
